The holiday season can be tough for seniors who will have limited contact with family or friends. Edmonton seniors organizations have stepped up to provide opportunities to connect during the holidays.
Seniors’ Centre Without Walls Holiday Programs
Alone for the holidays? Looking for some fun and holiday cheer? Join other older adults in the Edmonton area from the comfort of your own home with no need to go out in the cold.
All programs begin at 1 p.m. and are one hour in length.

Mill Woods Seniors Association (2610 Hewes Way, 2nd Floor)
Mill Woods Seniors Association is open December 24 – 26 and has planned a variety of activities for older adults 55+. Stop by to visit with others during the holidays and have some fun.

- December 25, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Turkey dinner, games, movies, and hot drinks
- December 26, 2 – 6 p.m. Food, movies, and games

Christmas Day Dinner

December 25, socializing 1 p.m., dinner 4 p.m.
SCONA is hosting Christmas dinner for seniors who would otherwise be spending the day alone. Dinner will be served at 4 p.m. but seniors are welcome to come anytime after 1 p.m. and enjoy an afternoon with friends. RSVP at 780-433-5377 and call early as space is limited.
Winter Holiday at The Centre

December 26, tea/cookies 1 p.m., dinner 4 p.m.
Edmonton Seniors Centre is hosting a fully-catered Christmas dinner on December 26. Enjoy tea and cookies starting at 1 p.m. and at 4 p.m. dinner will start in the Auditorium. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Call 780-342-8625 for more information.
SouthWest Edmonton Seniors Association

To keep people connected over the holidays, SWESA will open their YECC location for social gathering. They will not be offering scheduled classes or office services, but they will have an abundance of hot coffee, friendship and a place to share your leftover sweets.
